A study has been conducted on the forms of energy efficiency indices with the aim of determining their further transformation for inland waterway vessels in the context of implementingthe "energy transition" concept and achieving the goals of the "ecological navigation" system. An analysis of factors influencing the formation of energy efficiency indices has been carried out, taking into account the specific characteristics of inland waterway vessels. One of the important conclusions is the possibility of utilizing the distribution of inland waterway vessels into different types based on their operational characteristics. This enables the application of specific forms of energy efficiency indicators for each type of vessel.
This approach allows for the identification of optimal forms of energy efficiency indices that consider the specific needs and characteristics of different types of inland waterway vessels, depending on the conditions of their technical operation and navigation requirements.
The possibility of determining different forms of energy efficiency indices, taking into account emission labeling levels associated with the operation of the vessel's engines, is also being considered. This means that the indices can incorporate environmental parameters and the vessel's overall system efficiency, thereby promoting emission reduction and increased productivity. Furthermore, the consideration of emission labeling levels stimulates greater attention to environmental aspects in the design and production processes of vessels, contributing to the sustainable development of inland waterway transportation.
In further research, other aspects of defining forms of energy efficiency indices could be investigated and examined, such as fuel efficiency, the use of alternative energy sources, and the impact of technological innovations on energy efficiency indicators for inland waterway vessels. This would allow for even more precise identification of optimal solutions to enhance efficiency and environmental sustainability of these vessels.
The results of this study can be valuable for scientists and experts in the field of inland waterway transportation in developing effective strategies and policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency of vessels.
