Abstract

Virtual reality (VR), as applied to education, is a leap in the development of educational technologies. Currently, many universities are actively studying virtual reality technology and its application for research in the field of system modeling, the rapid transfer of scientific research and practical technology. This article proposes the development of a marine simulator of an automatic identification system as an additional training material for remote use in a VR environment, which is currently being tested for operability and effectiveness. Despite the fact that mobile virtual reality is still at the very beginning of realizing its significant potential in the educational sector, it, in turn, already offers simulations that can be safer and cheaper than real exercises, and also, more cost-effective, in comparison with a standard e-learning course on stationary simulators. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to support the widespread adoption of mobile virtual reality technology in vocational education.
