The operation of vessels is directly related to the emergence and solution of the problem of environmental protection and ensuring compliance of pollutant emissions with modern regulatory requirements.
The increase observed in recent years in the carriage of goods by shipping companies leads to an increase in the amount of harmful emissions and discharges of waste from ships into the environment. This is due not only to the desire of shipowners to reduce the cost of servicing the fleet, but also to the imperfection of the system itself.
The current system of integrated fleet services is complex, multicomponent and geographically tied, which leads to unjustified downtime, the cost of intermediate operations of waste transportation, and ultimately to high financial costs and loss of profits by shipowners. The equipment of processing certain types of waste in operation on a number of vessels does not always ensure compliance with the requirements of environmental protection from pollution by vessels.
Therefore, as an optimal solution to the problem of ship waste, we can recommend the use of modern autonomous ships for integrated waste processing. Their application is relevant and can eliminate the main shortcomings of the existing system of integrated fleet services: mobility, maintenance of any navigable area, maximum efficiency, no need to design capital structures, low construction and operation costs.
The applied systems of processing of separate types of waste, combined in complexes, will be able to provide high quality of clearing, meeting not only existing, but perspective requirements of the nature protection legislation.
According to the results of the research, theoretical approaches to the design of systems of vessels of complex waste processing on the basis of the complex approach to the solution of the problem of ship waste in the system of complex service of fleet are created. Promising technological schemes and the general structure of vessels of complex processing of waste are proved.
