Abstract

The main idea of the article is the necessity to pay attention to the complex profession of a seamen which becomes more difficult under the influence of external factors which effect on the psycho-emotional state of specialist. This problem remains relevant due to the constant changes in the maritime transport industry. On the one hand, the sailor must work to support his family and a longer stay in the voyage - better for the material wealth of the family. On the other hand, a longer stay in the voyage influence on the psycho-emotional state and health of the seaman. Nowadays, a lot of attention has been paid to the seafarer's health, both in psychological and physical aspects. Psychological problems related to the maritime industry are discussed by both the employer and the crewing companies, which are focusing on improving the lives and activities of the seafarer on board: gyms, cabins, proper nutrition.

Improving the life of the ship brings the stay on board closer to home conditions and, thus, removes the disturbance of psycho-emotional state and the deterioration of the health of the seafarer.
