Abstract

Based on retrospective analysis, it is shown that in applied research of water transport, marine infrastructure in general, the use of formal techniques in the organization of such research is highly effective. The effectiveness of their use in practice is proved on the example of construction of technological maps and various structures of scientific research. It is shown that structural visualization of goals and intermediate tasks is an effective means of presenting the general, "optimal" in terms of time and resources, plan of scientific work, justification of its relevance and practical significance, the validity of which is verified by simulation and / or field experiment. The formation of the general structure of scientific research allows to effectively isolate the "main" and "auxiliary" scientific tasks, to present a general assessment and verification of scientific results, to summarize and reconcile research results and conclusions. Additional possibilities of using "technological" methods to build a logical and unambiguous formulation of the scientific novelty of the study are shown. The use of general principles of technology in the methodology of scientific research of any type is practically tested and tested at the Department of Technical Operation of the Navy of the National University "Odesa Maritime Academy". Further development of the use of technology in the process of scientific research should be the clarification of certain structural elements of technological maps that ensure the guaranteed achievement of scientific results, "astatism" in the final decisions and conclusions.
