THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF MARINE PERSONNEL IN TEACHING LEGAL DISCIPLINES PROFILE («SEA LAW»)

In the article it is viewed the main theoretical and methodological foundations of teaching legal disciplines, in particular «Law of the Sea», in higher educational institutions of maritime specialization. It is determined the essence of such definitions as «competence» and «expertice», their specific features are indicated also. It is disclosed the content of the concept «professional competence», its main components (cognitive, functional activity, personal).
It has been proven that the formation of professional qualities of future marine specialists is carried out thanks to well-chosen principles, approaches and teaching methods. It is noted that the education of highly qualified marine personnel is carried out due to the correct organization of the educational space and information technology environment, providing educational services of a high quality, taking into account the students' needs and interests, subject-subject interaction between students and teachers, assimilation by applicants for higher education of generally accepted human norms and rules of conducting in the maritime industry, the ability to self-organize, effective independent research work, introduction of innovative teaching methods, integration of education, science and industry, the formation of practical skills to solve problematic issues related to professional activities.
The opinion is expressed that the academic discipline «Law of the Sea» contributes to the formation and development of the professional and legal culture of future maritime personnel, and also consolidating their common competencies defined in the standard of higher education of Ukraine in the specialty 271 «River transport» (bachelor's level).
