Abstract

During the operation of the marine main low-speed engines, according to the requirements of regulatory documentation, it is necessary to regularly check and evaluate a large number of parameters of the work process. Such requirements are necessary in order to monitor changes in the conditions of the main processes at separate stages of the engine's operating cycle, which makes it possible to detect any violations in its operation associated with a change in the technical condition of its individual elements, and the engine as a whole. This allows you to take the necessary operational measures at an early stage of problems in order to prevent their further development. This approach makes it possible to ensure optimal use of the engine and the overall efficiency of the installation as a whole, which is very important with the current trend of increasing fuel prices and increasing environmental requirements. However, in order to evaluate the changes in the parameters of the working process, it is necessary to compare the results of the planned performance test of the engine with the previous data and with the results obtained during the bench tests of the engine or reference charts and parameters obtained by calculation. Modern trends to decrease the operating speed of ships, associated with the efforts of shipowners to reduce costs for the fuel component, make it impossible to carry out performance test of main engine and diagnostics at nominal modes. As a result, there is a need for defined parameters of the work process at partial load modes that differ significantly from the nominal ones. To solve this problem, the authors proposed a methodology that allows analytically obtaining reference indicator diagrams for any mode of operation of the engine, based on the results of its bench tests. he analysis of such diagrams allows expanding the list of parameters characterizing the work process flow and revealing patterns of changes in these parameters. The study, the results of which are presented in this article, is devoted to the definition of an extended list of parameters of the work process in the entire range of operating modes of a marine low-speed engine, based on the analysis of calculated of indicator diagrams.
