Abstract

A critical analysis of the classic model of building existing naval fleets is presented. With the help of open sources of information, the article provides an analysis of the types of modular concepts existing in various military fleets of the world. These are the concepts of building ships, vessels of the auxiliary fleet, power plants, etc. Such concepts are actively used in modern shipbuilding. In particular, in the renovation and conversion of ships, design, construction and operation of warships and dual-purpose ships, including autonomous ones. The results of the analysis show that the practical use of modular concepts allows to significantly reduce the negative features of the classic model of fleet construction. For the most widespread types of modular concepts, which use varieties of modular concepts, a brief retrospective of their appearance, the ideology of implementation, the principles of their conceptual and architectural composition and the resources necessary for their creation is given. The thesis that currently existing varieties of modular concepts represent a structurally limited symbiosis of well-known and very complex solutions is substantiated. Based on the analysis of the varieties of modular concepts, in particular, their positive features, the possibility of choosing the optimal (according to the given criteria) their varieties, or a combination of varieties, with the aim of forming promising architectural and compositional outlines of ships and vessels of the auxiliary fleet of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is shown.
