Increasing the environmental friendliness of ship power plants (SEU) is an important and urgent task related to the strengthening of environmental requirements for emissions of NOx, SOx and COx by international organizations, the expansion of control zones (special areas) for emissions in the sea space, drawing the attention of shipbuilders to the issue of environmental friendliness. As a result of calculations using the developed mathematical model, it was concluded that it is necessary to install guide plates inside the FOE, which will allow to increase the temperature difference in the gas flow due to the increase in the size of HV bubbles during the rise. In the course of the research, it was established that the speed of the rise of gas bubbles inside the FOE reaches a constant value within three seconds of the start of movement, and does not depend on the speed of their introduction or the viscosity of the resulting gas-liquid mixture. In order to increase the efficiency of the process of filtering shipboard gas, it is necessary to increase the contact surface of gas bubbles with the liquid inside the FOE in the liquid. Structurally, this can be done by generating gas bubbles of the maximum diameter in the lower part of the element and choosing the angle of inclination of the guide plates inside the FOE, in such a way as to ensure the longest possible contact of the HV with the liquid.
