The article discusses the risks associated with the operation of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) in offshore extraction complexes. The focus is on analyzing specific threats that arise in marine conditions, such as mechanical damage, control system failures, adverse weather conditions, and environmental pollution. The article argues for a comprehensive approach to risk assessment that includes the use of modern technologies, such as multibeam echosounders and tension control systems, and provides recommendations for enhancing the safety and efficiency of ROV operations through the development of adaptive risk management strategies.
